Sponsor a horse and become a
Project Horse Herd Hero!
Happy, healthy horses are a huge part of what make the programs at Project Horse successful. Sponsoring a horse is a unique opportunity to make a difference by directly helping a member of our healing herd! Our rescued horses have a home for life and many rely on maintenance medications and supplements in addition to normal upkeep expenses including feed, hay, farrier, dental and veterinary needs.
For as little as $1 a day become a Herd Hero, and your donated dollars go directly towards the ongoing care of the horse of your choosing. Herd Hero sponsorships make great gifts to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions. Not only is this a great gift idea, but a wonderful program for school kids, church groups, scout troops and business organizations! Pick your special horse and become part of this rewarding experience!
Who doesn't want to be a hero?
Be A Herd Hero, in uncanny’s MEMORY!
Uncanny was the eldest member of our healing herd, and with Project Horse for a decade. Uncanny was a vibrant and loving co-therapist, and helped clients of every age. She was friend to all, 2 and 4-legged alike. Uncanny lived up to her name, literally… always knowing the exact moment to give support, or request more effort from all of her clients. We sadly and unexpectedly lost Uncanny on 11/20/2019.
HONOR UNCANNY’S MEMORY WITH A HERD HERO SPONSORSHIP!
Your contribution will support the entire Project Horse healing herd.
Be Jack's Herd Hero!
The anchor of our Mobile Minis™ herd, Jack came to Project Horse with some health challenges. He has digestive issues that require him to be on a probiotic supplement, which helps him greatly. More seriously, Jack has asthma, which means we need to keep his activity levels within certain limits. We also need to keep special medications on hand for Jack in the event he has an asthma attack. A recent dental exam showed Jack needs 4 teeth pulled, which will be done in July 2020 at the local equine veterinary hospital.
Sponsorship funds directed towards Jack will contribute to his routine wellness and daily care costs, plus help cover his digestive supplements and medications.
Be A HERD HERO IN Reeses' MEMORY!
Reeses story of how she came to be the Project Horse Co-Founder detailed just how physically depleted she was due to neglect. She blossomed into a healthy and happy senior mare. Even a tumor behind her eye (discovered in late 2017) did not stop this dynamic mare from sharing her healing energy and profound wisdom with so many. We sadly lost Reeses on May 22, 2020.
HONOR REESES MEMORY WITH A HERD HERO SPONSORSHIP! Your contribution will support the entire Project Horse healing herd.
Be Foster's Herd Hero!
Foster has persevered through some very tough times health-wise! In 2013, Foster had to have emergency colic surgery, due to a GI impaction. In 2010, and again in 2015, Foster required eye surgery to help combat a condition known as Equine Recurrent Uveitis. Foster requires special digestive and nutritional supplements, as well as several medicated eye ointments daily. A June 2020 veterinary exam showed his vision is worsening. He will need to receive these medications and supplements throughout the rest of his life to ensure he remains healthy and comfortable.
Sponsorship funds for Foster will be directed towards his special digestive supplements, ophthalmic and other and medications as well as his routine care costs.
Be Fudge's Herd Hero!
Fudge is the youngest member of the healing herd and she started out life as a healthy horse. She later developed moderate to severe reactions to common allergens and now requires on-going immunotherapy (allergy shots) in order to get relief. She also now requires a special diet, special shampoos and skin conditioners, and additional medications to help alleviate her discomfort.
Sponsorship funds designated for Fudge will help cover her immunotherapy needs, like allergy shots, allergy medications, specialized nutrition and acupuncture.
Be PENNY'S Herd Hero!
Several years ago, Penny was rescued from an auction house. She was shaped by an unclear yet traumatic past, and it has literally taken years of quiet patience for Penny to be able to develop real trust in her caregivers.
A few years ago our veterinarian confirmed that Penny was losing normal sight in her right eye. A June 2020 veterinary exam showed her vision is worsening, for which Penny now requires daily eye medication. Penny also has Equine Cushing's (a metabolic syndrome) which requires daily medication and careful monitoring of diet.
Sponsorship funds designated for Penny will help cover the cost of her daily care, in addition to her specialized opthalmic and metabolic needs.
Be B's Herd Hero!
B (aka Beebles) is a seasoned athlete. He retired from his lengthy and successful competitive eventing career in 2016. Now B has become a therapy horse extraordinaire! B took to his new job without missing a stride, and he LOVES it!
With years of sport and related wear-and-tear, and entering his "senior years", B now requires joint and anti-inflammatory medications to maintain his comfort. B also has Equine Cushing's (a metabolic syndrome) which requires daily medication and careful monitoring of diet.
B also needs dental work, which will be done in July 2020 at the local equine veterinary hospital.
Sponsorship funds directed towards B's care will go towards his daily requirements, including metabolic medications and help cover his specialized osteoarthritis medication.
Be IGGY's Herd Hero!
Iggy was a competitive sport horse in days gone by. Known as the "Argentina Diva", Iggy wears her emotions on her sleeve. Many of our clients relate well to Iggy's emotionally sensitive side and agree that this as a wonderful attribute!
In addition to being sensitive to energy and emotion, Iggy is very sensitive to starch and sugar! Iggy also has Equine Cushing's (a metabolic syndrome) which requires daily medication and careful monitoring of diet.
Sponsorship funds designated for Iggy will go towards covering her daily nutritional and care requirements, including medical support for her metabolic challenges.
